Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim said on Sunday that Egypt’s striker Mostafa Mohamed will have to prove his worth before the Turkish club can consider using the option to make his loan deal permanent.
The 23-year-old joined Galatasaray from Zamalek in Januaryon a one and a half season loan deal with the Turkish side, who have the option to make the loan deal permanent before the end of this year.
“Mostafa Mohamed will decide whether we will use the option to make his loan deal permanent or not,” Terim told reporters on Sunday.
The former Zamalek striker took the Turkish league by storm since joining Galatasaray, scoring eight goals in 16 appearances.
This season, the Egyptian striker made a slow start with the Turkish giants in the Champions League qualifying round, where they were eliminated after losing to PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands 7-2 in aggregate.
Mohamed was benched in the first leg before playing the last 30 minutes. He was part of the starting line-up in the second leg; however, he was replaced during the pause, failing to score in both games.
